Spatial Interference Cancellation using Blind Signal Separation and Sector Antennas
(2001) IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT 2001)- Abstract
- In order to increase the capacity of a mobile radio network, it is desirable to exploit the spatial domain in an efficient way. A common technique is to use a sector antennas. Sectors can be formed by using antenna arrays which add spatial domain selectivity in order to improve the Signal-to-Noise and Interference Ratio (SNIR). In this paper an interference cancellation scheme is presented that combines the different areas of beamforming and Blind Signal Separation (BSS). An important feature in the proposed spatial interference canceler scheme is that it does not require any a priori knowledge of the transmitted signals. Consequently there will be no reduction in the system capacity, which is caused by the transmission of training (pilot)... (More)
