- Abstract
In this paper the immature stages of Brenthia monolychna Meyrick (Choreutidae: Brenthiinae), as well as their ultrastructure, are described and figured. This is the first description of a New World brenthiine, in addition, notes on life history for four New World species of Brenthia Clemens are provided, including mention of their host plants and parasitoids. Host plant utilization of the genus is discussed. A clarification of the nomenclature of the longest seta on the larval abdominal segment 9 is proposed. Earlier literature disagrees on whether this is a lateral, subdorsal, or dorsal seta - my examination suggests it is the subdorsal seta 1.
