Modellering och simulering av värmelast och effektbehov för konstfrusna isbanor

Abstract
The aim of the thesis is to develop a model, based on well known

physical and empirical formulas, to simulate the heat load on a rink of

artificially frozen ice. A comparison of the results from this model and the

results from other methods to determine heat load of the rink is made.

The model calculates the heat load from convection, long wave radiation

from the air temperature and from the sky temperature, sun radiation,

rain and the humidity as condensation and evaporation. All these

loads are calculated separately to make it possible to analyse different

solutions to reduce the energy consumption of an artificial ice rink.

An analysis of the effects by using a roof above the ice rink is made

and the need of installed refrigeration power is calculated. If an ice rink in

Malmö is to be built, a roof might reduce the need of installed refrigeration

power from about 1800 kW to about 1580 kW.

A strong dependency between the heat load and the temperature of

the ice is shown. A good automatic control system, for a bandy rink in

Malmö, might reduce the heat load by 890 MWh, witch corresponds to

about 134 000 Swedish kronor, per season.

The model is also capable of calculating the effects of a wind velocity

reduction or a shortening of the operation period of the ice rink. (Less)
