Composition Projects
(2016)- Abstract
- Every year the Composition Department at Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University, takes part in several composition projects for the students to get the experience of live rehearsals and concerts with various types of ensembles. The projects have been going on since 1995 in different combinations. See below for the project status in September 2016:
MALMÖ SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
1 master student from the Composition Diploma level will get the opportunity to collaborate with the MSO. This will be possible every year or every second year depending on the number of students and the planning with the MSO.
NORRKÖPING SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
(together with the music academies in Gothenburg and Stockholm)
2 master students... SWEDISH WIND ENSEMBLE
(together with the music academies in Gothenburg and Stockholm)
2 bachelor or master students will get the opportunity to collaborate with the SWE. Option every year.
JÖNKÖPING SINFONIETTA
4-6 bachelor or master students will get the opportunity to collaborate with the JS. Option every year.
MUSICA VITAE
(together with the music academies in Gothenburg and Stockholm)
2 master students will get the opportunity to collaborate with the JS. Option every year.
INTERNAL PROJECTS
Every year there are some interesting composition collaborations with various instrument groups. Some examples:
- piano department
- guitar department
- clarinet department
- singing department
CONNECT FESTIVAL
The Composition Department's own music festival for contemporary music. The students drive the festival. Teachers available for advices and support.
LUND CONTEMPORARY
Festival for contemporary music in Lund. The students are taking the main responsibility. Teachers available for advices and support.
