  abstract     = {{“Humans and Wildlife in Scandinavia” aims to describe and illustrate how contemporary social science and humanities research approaches issues related to wildlife and wildlife management in Scandinavia. The report consists of two parts. Part 1 describes the different disciplines and their theoretical foundations as well as central research questions within the field. The disciplines are broadly categorized based on the scientific lens they use to analyse humans and society: focusing on the individual level, the societal and institutional level, disciplines that span multiple levels, and the social and socio-ecological system level. Part 2 illustrates how the different disciplines can complement one another as they address one and the same management problem. These illustrations are presented through three current examples from Swedish wildlife management: illegal hunting, consultation processes, and the national goal for wild boar. The basis for the report’s content was jointly developed by researchers active in social science and humanities research focusing on wildlife and wildlife management in Scandinavia, during a two-day digital workshop in April 2022. During the workshop, participating researchers discussed their different perspectives on research concerning wildlife and wildlife management. The report provides an overview of how social sciences and the humanities can contribute increased knowledge about wildlife and wildlife management, be included <br/>in interdisciplinary research, and be applied by wildlife-managing authorities in various decision-making situations.}},
