abstract = {{During the investigations within the Vestfoldbane excavation project, c. 1000 sherds of Neolithic pottery were found at Langangen Vestgård 6, Figure 1 (Reitan 2014a). This pottery is classified as Funnel Beaker type. Both radiocarbon and shoreline dating are in accordance with the typological dating, c. 3900-3600 BC (all dates in this article are in calBC). When the site was in use, it was close to the seashore on a terrace measuring c. 10–13 m in width and 40 m in length, sharply delimited by steep and rocky surroundings (see Persson & Reitan, this volume: Figure 1 and 2). The interpretation is that this has been a seasonal hunting and fishing station; therefore, it is likely that the vessels were brought ready-made to the site. Investigation of clay and production technology can reveal if the pottery had one or several origins and thereby tell something about the site's function.}},
