  abstract     = {{This qualitative study explored how children and adolescents with craniopharyngioma, with previous or ongoing pharmacological treatment with GLP-1 analogue for hyperphagia, and their caregivers experienced hyperphagia and the pharmacological treatment. Previous research regarding experiences of hyperphagia and pharmacological treatment among this patient group is limited. With the aim of contributing to a greater understanding of the patient group and its needs, an exploratory interview study was conducted. Data was generated through semi-structured interviews with three children and adolescents and five caregivers. The interviews were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis and generated three themes. The first theme From the Grip of Hunger to Increased Control captured the participants’ experiences of hyperphagia and the change in hunger, satiety and body that occurred after the initiation of pharmacological treatment. The second theme, The Only Help, highlighted the participants’ experiences of the medication as a major help. The final theme, Daring to Try and Having Patience with the Process, highlighted aspects of courage and patience and the value of trying the medication. The results of the study highlight hyperphagia as burdensome and the medication’s potential to increase feelings of satiety and to reduce food noise. The medication was also experienced as a major help and security to hold on to. Finally, the results highlight that the pharmacological treatment was perceived as worth trying, and required both courage and patience. The study’s findings contribute to promoting understanding of the patient group and the complexity of the disease. Future research should continue to explore qualitative perspectives on hyperphagia and pharmacological treatment with GLP-1 analogues for hyperphagia in children and adolescents with craniopharyngioma.}},
