  abstract     = {{This paper highlights the importance of trust-based leadership and its essential role in human service organizations. Leadership shapes the direction of an organization and influences both its culture and outcomes. Its impact can determine whether a work environment is healthy or dysfunctional. Two key components of middle managers' leadership are trust and psychological safety. To delve deeper into the topic, the study employs a qualitative method that includes interviews with managers in human service organizations. The objective is to provide insights and deepen the understanding of trust-based leadership and psychological safety, and how they contribute to the organization and the team`s dynamics. The findings suggest that trust-based leadership is the main pillar of an effective working team. Moreover, the study reveals that barriers such as a culture of silence can occur in the absence of psychological safety.}},
