  abstract     = {{This study contributes to research on integrating sustainability governance tools for the development of products and services. I examine how a sustainability tool (Costed Carbonised Bill Of Materials) materialises in a student-led, quasi-business organisation. Drawing on sensemaking and institutional theory, I conducted and analysed 12 interviews with the management of Lund Formula Student. Although the tool was introduced for educational purposes, members treated it primarily as a reporting tool for gaining competition points. Thus, it became a weak sustainability implementation. The findings suggest that the establishment of sustainability tools in an organisation is shaped by its priorities and identities. Hence, this study indicates that meaningful execution towards strong sustainability requires understanding on how actors that are responsible for implementing the tools interpret, communicate and justify sustainability work within companies.}},
