  abstract     = {{This thesis presents the development of a prototype for a concealed power strip integrated into the underside of a sofa. The aim is to improve accessibility to electrical outlets while maintaining a clean and unobtrusive appearance in the living environment. The solution is designed to both hide cables and allow convenient access to power when seated, while ensuring sufficient ground clearance for robot vacuum cleaners.

The project followed an iterative design process, where multiple concepts were generated, evaluated, and prototyped. Key challenges included achieving a compact and discreet form, ensuring ease of installation, and creating a solution compatible with a wide range of furniture. Several concepts were explored before a final design based on a spring-loaded leg mechanism was selected. This concept utilizes an existing attachment interface to simplify installation and improve compatibility.

The resulting prototype demonstrates that it is possible to combine concealed cable management, user accessibility, and compatibility with automated cleaning systems in a single solution. While further development is required for production implementation, the concept provides a feasible direction for integrating power access into furniture in a more discreet and user-friendly way.}},
