abstract = {{The verification of technical properties associated with the reuse of prefabricated solid concrete floor slabs is a complex process that must be assessed on a project-specific basis. In this thesis an approach has been developed for a more general case, with the intention that it may be applied across a broader range of projects, provided that it is adapted to project-specific conditions. The approach is consistently linked to structural integrity, load-bearing capacity and durability in accordance with Swedish legislation (PBL) governing land use planning, building permits, and the design and construction of buildings.

The thesis presents a theoretical background addressing the current challenges related to the reuse of concrete floor slabs, including applicable legislation and standards, material properties, and structural performance requirements. A selection of reference projects has been studied and compared in order to develop an understanding of how the verification of technical properties is carried out in practice. Furthermore, insights from industry experts have been incorporated to capture the complexity of the subject and to account for differences between theoretical approaches and practical implementation throughout the reuse process.

The applicability of the proposed methodology has been evaluated through a theoretical application to a real construction project. The results indicate that multiple verification methods may be applied when assessing technical properties related to the reuse of prefabricated solid concrete floor slabs. A key conclusion is that verification, in most cases, must be conducted using either non-destructive or destructive testing methods. The study demonstrates that it is feasible to establish a structured methodology for verifying technical properties related to structural integrity, load-bearing capacity and durability in accordance with Swedish legislation, although project-specific assessment remains essential.

The thesis also highlights the overall complexity of the verification process and identifies several remaining challenges. In particular, the verification process requires solutions across multiple stages including technical, logistical, and practical considerations. To enable large-scale reuse of concrete floor slabs, clear guidelines must be developed to support the verification process and to prevent individual reuse projects from becoming excessively extensive and resource demanding. Interviews with industry experts indicate that the primary barrier to large-scale reuse is not a lack of interest, but rather the absence of comprehensive legislation and standardized guidelines.}},
