  abstract     = {{The Fehmarn Belt connection has potential effects for the region of Scania in terms of tourism development. Since, the travel time between Hamburg and Malmö will be reduced to 3 hours it offers new possibilities for tourists. To understand the potential effects for tourism in Scania, the role of stakeholders need to be addressed. The study focuses on developing the knowledge about different stakeholder typologies and how the stakeholders are collaborating. Moreover the research examines how stakeholders are reasoning about the potential effects from the Fehmarn Belt connection. With a qualitative approach, the empirical data was collected through a document analysis and semi-structured interviews. The findings show different actions among stakeholders in tourism planning, such as collaborating with stakeholders, improving mobility, promoting sustainable tourism practices and developing different types of tourism. A shared vision, stakeholder collaboration and implementation of strategies are necessary to reach the potential the Fehmarn Belt connection offers.}},
