abstract = {{The result of this project is a grow light designed for use in a kitchen environment. The project investigates how seasonal variations affect behaviour and daily activities in Nordic countries where weather conditions and daylight hours change drastically throughout the year.

Access to sunlight plays a significant role in people’s ability to spend time outdoors, socialize and engage in activities beyond work and school. During the winter months, lack of daylight makes it challenging for many to maintain these routines. Surveys and interviews conducted as part of this project identified gardening and cooking with freshly grown ingredients as activities that were often missed during this period.

To support plant growth in conditions where sunlight is lacking, artificial lighting becomes essential. This project explores how light, modularity and aesthetics can be combined to create a grow light that not only supports plant growth but also encourages user engagement and hand on interactions.}},
