  abstract     = {{During the late Triassic period several global environmental changes took place, including climate instability, and the most distinctive one was the biotic extinction at the Norian – Rhaetian boundary (NRB). Large carbonate platforms were established along the Tethys ocean and periodically exported carbonate sediments to the adjacent ocean floor, and especially at the bathyal depth. 
Petrographic analysis of eleven samples from six density flow deposits in the Orbuklukeli-section in the Tavuscayiri-block, Mersin Mélange, southern Turkey, was carried out to interpret their local source area and transport mechanisms. The results of petrographic and carbonate microfacies analysis indicate that the recurrent density flow deposits were sourced from different environments. The lowermost (oldest) density flow (DF1) is interpreted to originate from a shallow water environment with indicators of the green algae order Dasycladales and early botryoidal cement. There is also an alternative interpretation for density flow 1 which interpret a hydrothermal seamount-collapse, which is supported by organic matter found in SEM-analysis. Density flows 2 – 6 are interpreted to mainly originate from slope to outer shelf environments where indicators like bivalve filaments, crinoids, calcispheres and tubiphytes support this interpretation.}},
