  abstract     = {{Today, airports often prioritise logistics and passenger flow over hospitality, leaving travellers without suitable spaces in which they can rest during long journeys. 

This thesis aims to address this issue by developing a furniture concept that offers passengers a safe and comfortable place to sleep.
Five research methods were used to provide input for the design: qualitative interviews, a quantitative survey, literature review, product analysis and a self-experiment in an airport setting.
The research clearly shows that there is a demand for such furniture, with safety for both passengers and their belongings being the main concern.

The study concludes that integrating this type of furniture into airport interiors would significantly improve the travel experience and raise customer satisfaction while increasing non-aeronautical revenue, thereby transforming airports into spaces that travellers can enjoy once again.}},
