abstract = {{Hydrophones are utilized across a wide range of industries and are critical in underwater intelligence. This project aimed to design a hydrophone purpose-built for capturing low-frequency underwater audio. A key focus was the exploration of automatic gain control, particularly in combination with an exceptionally low cutoff frequency of \SI{1}{\Hz}.

The work combined literature studies, simulations, and empirical measurements on the custom hardware. The resulting design proved highly successful, delivering outstanding low-frequency performance. However, tests showed that the very low cutoff frequency constrained the gain adjustment time, and suitable strategies to overcome this limitation were identified and discussed.}},
