- Is accountability possible in global environmental governance? The purpose of
this thesis is to examine if accountability is possible in global environmental governance. From an accountability perspective the thesis tries to illuminate global environmental governance. An investigation about the concept

The thesis concludes that democratic accountability isn´t possible in the global sphere. However there do exist other potential mechanisms to demand accountability in global environmental governance but these mechanisms appear to be dependent of other factors and actors to work in an efficient way. The thesis also concludes that as long as there is no global common frame of reference it will be hard to expect accountability in the global sphere and in global environmental governance. (Less)
