Our main questions where: -What does the development within infant research say about when it comes to the importance of early relationships? -What is causing the disturbances in the mother- and infant relationship seen from an attachment theoretical perspective? -How can these disturbances be detected? -What theoretical knowledge has the professionals got, do they find the theories functional and how do they implement this knowledge? -What kinds of treatments and preventing measures are available? The project is based on eight interviews with different professionals who meet mothers with infants in their organizations. Main results: Despite the fact that the professionals has a knowledge about early disturbances and what causes them, there is still a risk that social workers and health and medical staff fail to discover some of these mothers and infants. The reason for this is that professionals do not ask enough questions that could reveal the mother's problem. It is also unlikely that the mothers seek help on their own due to the fact that information about the different methods of treatment is unknown for the members of the society and therefore the communication and cooperation between the organizations must be extended.
