Abstract
Energy efficiency - A study of autoclaved aerated concrete In recent years there have been several studies and investigations that have shown that 40% of the total energy use in Sweden is used for heating, hot water and electricity in buildings. Building houses that are more energy efficient, you reduce the energy use which positively affects the environment and the economy. Energy for heating in a building can be lowered in many ways. The issue is to weigh the costs against the savings and benefits of an energy efficient house without functions and properties of the building deteriorate. The concept of energy efficiency is that we should consume as little energy as possible for the energy consuming functions, environments and tools used... (More)
Energy efficiency - A study of autoclaved aerated concrete In recent years there have been several studies and investigations that have shown that 40% of the total energy use in Sweden is used for heating, hot water and electricity in buildings. Building houses that are more energy efficient, you reduce the energy use which positively affects the environment and the economy. Energy for heating in a building can be lowered in many ways. The issue is to weigh the costs against the savings and benefits of an energy efficient house without functions and properties of the building deteriorate. The concept of energy efficiency is that we should consume as little energy as possible for the energy consuming functions, environments and tools used for our existence and activities. The well thought strategy for energy efficiency is insulation, the foundation for measures to reduce energy waste. Given the current view to the environment it is important to properly isolate new constructions and renovations of buildings. Even if the isolation is thicker compared to BBR's isolation requirements the measure is very profitable. The difference in cost can be seen as a cheap insurance against what can happen in the future. When purchasing energy consuming products it’s important to look at the maintenance costs and the energy costs, and not only the cheapest product. The total cost is often more affected by the energy cost during its lifetime and not only the investment costs. Keywords: Energy efficiency, energy use, insulation, autoclaved aerated concrete, LCC.
