The main purpose of this study was to examine the social interaction on blogs, written by someone that unexpected lost a beloved one. The main focus was therefore on how both the blogger and the reader expressed themselves and interacted on a blog. How did they put their feelings into words and how did the reader give answer to a text with grief as a main issue? The analysis is build upon two different theories; Asplunds perspective that all are responsive by nature, and Dyregrovs and Dyregrovs perspective of how the networks give their support to those who grieve. To accomplish this, we collected blogs written by six different persons and selected three posts from each blog with following comments from the readers. All the blogs were written by people who had lost a beloved one unexpected, such as in an accident. With these documents (blogs) as material, we chose a content analysis to analyze them. We could see a lot of themes and expressions that were common for many readers and also for the bloggers. We could also see differences between the diverse blogs and the comments and the way they expressed their feelings changed over time. A very interesting result of this study was the connection between the posts from the blogger and the comments from the reader. Depending on how the blogger expressed their feelings they also got answered, the more personal the post was, the more personal respond they got. (Less)
