The method I used was a qualitative study of inductive, approach. Using the responses of semi-structured interviews I compared the Network of Feminist self-defence to Alberto Meluccis theory of new social movements, which according to him is change through collective action. I came to the conclusion that even if the Network of Feminist self-defence has many similarities with social movements according Meluccis description, I also found a crucial difference; the group's only goal is to give women the opportunity to independently create greater security in their everyday lives and primarily protect themselves against male violence. This means that everything the group does is about strengthening the individual woman's ability to do so. I have found a principle that members try to follow in everything they do. I temporarily call it "anti-forcing" and it involves organizing and learning processes within the collective are designed so that the individual will always paramount and should not have to go against his own gut instinct. This way of organizing themselves, they call Feminist Pedagogy. This is the main reason the group does not seek confrontation and debate in public in society; it would be contrary to the individual's independent stance.
