(2015) PPTT06 20151Department of Psychology
- Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

- Abstract
- The starting point for the study was an interview guide used in a treatment unit for both women and men who have been exposed to or exercised intimate partner violence, as well as children who have witnessed or been directly exposed to the violence. The analysis of the source material showed that intimate partner violence is exercised by both men and women but in terms of exposure to more frequent violence, in the group where you will find intimate terrorism, women are over-represented. The analysis also showed that in relationships where there is frequent situational couples violence, this is more common if the abuser is under the influence of alcohol or drugs while this is not the case with intimate terrorism. The children's perspective... (More)

The children's perspective and vulnerability gets little space in the conversation with the victim of violence or the violent parent. The conclusion was that it is important to lift the children's perspective and vulnerability in the treatment work with the parents and that opportunity and room for the children's need for support and treatment is established.
