The sense of alienation from the Swedish and Sudanese public and not being able to define themselves as Swedish, have led them to feel that they don’t belong to the Swedish and Sudanese community. The solution to manage the exclusion became the religion islam, which, according to the informants were a way to free themselves from all labels and all requirements that belong to a certain ethnic group.
