- Abstract
- The purpose of this thesis was to study and find a solution for the safety problem of workers, pedestrians and bicyclists who take shortcuts through civil work construction sites. It focuses on the situation at one specific project, but the conclusions are general for all construction work sites. The thesis includes literature studies, interviews, a questionnaire survey and observation studies. Through the thesis, it was found that at the studied project, almost 50 % of the people working there regularly took shortcuts at the construction site. The main reasons they did this were unclear walking paths and that they did not see a risk with their behaviour. Main conclusions include that a genuinely safety-oriented working culture is needed...
