• Why should I publish the full text in LUP?
    Studies show that research that is freely available on the web get cited earlier and more often, which is often taken as a indicator for the usefulness of the research.
  • What kind of publications can I register in LUP?
    You can register all kind of publications, refereed, non referred, popular science etc. It is also possible to register publications from before you were affiliated to Lund University. The publications' statuses will be marked when registering.
  • I can’t open the registration form, what am I doing wrong?
    Your web browser must allow pop-up windows for the registration form to open. Change settings in your web browser and open the registration form again.
  • The search form seems a bit complicated. How does it work?
    See the About LUP and Register publications sections. Here you will find information about the search form and other questions related to the registering form.
  • There are publications that are not mine or that are duplicates in my home area. What should I do?
    Click edit on the publication. Find you name in the author list and unclick the LU author checkbox. Save and exit. Doublets can also be removed by deleting the record. Then choose to delete the record containing the least information.
  • I registered my publications a couple of days ago, how come they're not visible yet?
    Your registration has been sent to a submission buffer where a reviewer will check and approve the registration. Depending on the work situation of the reviewer, this could take some time. Contact your LUP reviewer for further information.
  • How do I set up a local interface?
    See User Interface in the left menu.
  • I can't find an appropriate Document Type describing the work I am about to register.
    Choose the most appropriate document type. If you want to suggest a new document type you are welcome to contact us and we will take it under consideration.
  • I do not find the research project/research group I am part of in the list of projects/research groups, how do I add it?
    You cannot add projects or research groups yourself, contact the LUP reviewer of your department and he/she will add it.
  • The funder of my research is not in the list, how can I add it?
    You cannot add the funder yourself, contact the LUP reviewer of your department and he/she will add it.
  • Who is my LUP reviewer?
    The reviewer is usually a librarian at your department library unless you are registering your dissertation. The reviewer of dissertations is usually a secretary at your faculty. You can always turn to your department library if you have any questions regarding LUP and how to register.

  • How do I register my dissertation?
    See the Registering publications Section and choose dissertations for information on how to register.
  • How can I make my dissertation freely available in LUP?
    You can upload your dissertation as a pdf-file in LUP under Files & Access. Once you’ve done that you set the access level. You can choose to only make it accessible for LUP administrators and yourself or you can make it open access, that is, freely accessible for everybody. To do so you must have copyright on your dissertation or have permission from the publisher to make it freely accessible in LUP. If your dissertation is published by Lund University you can also publish it in LUP. For more information regarding self-archiving and dissertations visit LUB web page.
  • Do I have to send an electronic version of the dissertation?
    If you uploaded a pdf. when you registered your dissertation in LUP, you do not have to send in an electronic copy.

    LUP Student Papers

  • I can't register my paper! When I log in I get a message saying: No courses available or no teachers have been assigned yet to any of your courses.
    Your course hasn't been registered yet in LUP, Please contact the liaison librarian (ämnesbibliotekarie) for your department for further assistance.
  • I can't find my paper!
    It can take a while for the paper to be public depending on the workload of the reviewer. If you have any questions, contact your liaison librarian (ämnesbibliotekarie).
  • Can Urkund be implemented in LUP Student Papers?
    No, we do not have a solution for this.
  • Can student from different LADOK courses access each others papers before submitting?
    No, we do not have a solution for this at the moment.
