The author also studied journal notes and child investigations to receive a more comprehensive picture. To be able to analyse and understand the situation of these children, earlier research was used as a tool for analysis. The social workers had less knowledge about the physical health of the children than regarding their mental health. The mental health of the children covered by the study was generally poor. Many of the children had significant difficultlies in school and the social workers were engaged to a certain extent. Overall, the study shows a result coherent with former available research, despite the additional resources placed on family care in the sample municipality. (Less)
