The study used an existing survey that examines people´s estimations of their own and other members of society´s fulfilling of democratic values. A manipulation was added to this survey, which was arranged to activate the participants´ social identity, by informing them that Muslims also were included in the group that constitutes other members of society. The study was participated by students (N = 101) at three senior high schools. Results of the study showed that participants´ estimated themselves, their own behavior and attitudes, as more representative of democratic values in comparison to the other members of society. There were no effects found regarding the manipulation that included Muslims to the general population. (Less)
