Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the thought processes behind judgements, based on the first impression, which people do about others. As these judgements can have a profound effect, our aim is to increase awareness about what influences them. We have used the phenomenological method, which proceeds from "self-reports". Our 10 participants were asked, through open questions, to write their opinion of three pictures. The texts where then analysed, using the Meaning Constitution Analysis developed by Roger Sages. The result showed that thought processes are a complex combination of many different aspects. We therefore discuss our results starting with outer signals and finishing with what we believe is the core of everything people... (More)
