Have they had a negative experience of assimilation? Did they had to deny a part of themselves in order to be accepted into the Swedish society? Has assimilation wrongly been associated with the identity of the immigrants? Based on my interviews and research there is nothing that confirms the idea that assimilation is an undemocratic method. Neither have I found any critic against the consequence of assimilation as a political method. The integration model instead, show an increased segregation and objectification of the immigrants.
