Svenska Röda korset: en komparativ studie över verksamhetsåren 1989 och 2000

- Abstract
- We wanted to compare the activity in Swedish Red Cross during two chosen years. We have only looked at the national level. The years we chose to compare were 1989 and 2000. The reason we chose to compare the activity was to find out if and how this activity has changed. We used theories made by Lundström and Svedberg to help us chose variables to build our comparison on. We also used their theory to find out what kind of organisation Swedish Red Cross could be sorted in. Lundström wrote in one of his articles, about the Swedish voluntary-organisation history, that a forth phase may have started in the late eighties. We tried to find proof for that. The result showed that there were no overarching changes in the activity between the two... (More)

The result showed that there were no overarching changes in the activity between the two years. Some smaller changes were found but nothing more than expected from the changes in society. We also found out that Swedish Red Cross could be sorted in the "Scandinavian non-professional democratically ruled organisation", with a touch of the "anglo-saxon voluntaryorganisation". (Less)
