To answer the above questions we interviewed Danish, Greenlanders and Swedish social workers in Denmark. We also studied literature on the subject. Our conclusion is that the image of the Greenlanders in the Danish society is derived from the colonization. Today, the Greenlanders in Denmark still have low status and have not reached acknowledgement of their cultural identity. It is of the highest priority that official institutions acknowledge the Greenlanders as a cultural minority, otherwise they can never feel nor be considered as equal citizens. (Less)
