I have interviewed three children's nurses, one district nurse and one almoner. The main result was that the language, knowledge about other culture and the treatment were the most important aspects. They didn't see any ethical quandaries when they affect cultural valuations, the problem was instead how they should do it. A delicate sphere and a medical aiming could be the reason why no preventing work was carried out. When they know about parents who use corporal punishment they use several methods. For example they pointed at alternative methods, talked about children's rights and feelings and the Swedish law against corporal punishment. (Less)
