Abstract
The purpose of this essay was to examine what some social workers, who handle social benefits, think about and how they answer the discussion that clients can feel that they have been humiliated in contact with the social welfare office. Our questions where: - What was the social workers opinion about the discussion? - Which factors the social workers regarded could be behind the clients feeling of been humiliated when he was applying for social benefit? - What did the social workers do or what did they want to do for the client so that he wouldnt feel humiliated? They saw a lot of reasons to why the client could feel humiliated in contact with the social welfare office. The most appearance reasons were that the social workers felt stress at work and carried a heavy load. They also said that to avoid humiliate it is very important to treat the client with respect.
