- Abstract
- The aim of this study was to examine the reasons for children to attempt suicide. My questions were: - How did the child describe the way of the suicide attempt ? - The family situation of the child ? - Did the child has a connection to a social worker before the suicide attempt ? - The reasons for the suicide attempt given in the child pcychiatry journal ? - Did the whole family get psychoterapy, or was it only the child who got individual psychotherapy? The results of the study: - Most of the children lived with both parents. - The mainly reason for attempt suicide was... (More)

The results of the study: - Most of the children lived with both parents. - The mainly reason for attempt suicide was that the child was in some sort of conflict to his/hers parents. Other reason was for example separation from boyfriend/girlfriend, or depression. - It wasn´t any difference between children who hade a connection with a social worker before the suicide attempt. 18 children had a contact before, 24 not. - Most of the psychotherapy given to the children after the suicide attempt, was with the whole family, in a family therapy. - 25 % of the children did only meet a child psychiatric staff member 1 time.
