The method was a qualitative literature and case study based on the latest research and interviews with school personnel. The conclusion of my thesis was that a strategy for a good psychosocial school environment was crucial for drug prevention. Liking school, and not dropping out, was an important protective factor from drug abuse. Especially children from underprivileged homes needed support to experience appreciation in school. Good relations with adults were protective factors; therefore all school personnel should be part of the strategy. At the examined field I found an awareness of the importance of relations, but it was not formulated as an objective and consequently there was no general strategy. (Less)
