- Abstract
- The purpose with our essay was to examine which risk- and protective factors that exist for children of alcoholics. We wanted to increase our understanding and knowledge about the situation of these children. It is a literary study, which covers the most frequently quoted results in the field of research. The questions for our study were; which risk factors can one as a parent with alcoholic abuse expose the child for? Which protection factors can one as a parent with alcoholic abuse make available for the child? Which protection factors can the child make available for it self? - The purpose with our essay was to examine which risk- and protective factors that exist for children of alcoholics. We wanted to increase our understanding and knowledge about the situation of these children. It is a literary study, which covers the most frequently quoted results in the field of research. The questions for our study were; which risk factors can one as a parent with alcoholic abuse expose the child for? Which protection factors can one as a parent with alcoholic abuse make available for the child? Which protection factors can the child make available for it self? How the child was influenced by these factors was very individual and was strongly connected to the family’s situation in general. The consequences for the child were of varied nature, but we found some more generalised symptoms that we have accounted for. (Less)
