The possibilities concentrated mainly on individual development, a wider perspective on life and more time for children. The study discusses the differences between the Swedish welfare state and the German welfare state. The Swedish model encourages both spouses to work and provide income. Families in Germany are more dependent on the man being the sole provider. This contrast has a profound impact on the interviewees daily lives. (Less)
