I considered that the use of a qualitative method with interviews combined with a study of literature to be the most preferable way to get relevant answers to my questions. What I have found in my study is that there is a certain agreement on that several factors contribute to that people contract the burnout syndrome. The demands and environment in both the working life and in the private life as well as personal characteristics contributes to negative stress and burnout. What also was mentioned as a contributing cause is the fact that the speed of the information flow today is very high and affects us all in the way that more and higher pressure is added up on people to achieve.
