The study is qualitative and was based on interviews with parents of ten children who have ADHD/ADD. The theory I used for my study is Meads theory of interaction. I come to the conclusion that early diagnosis and medical treatment, and an informed social response to the special needs of these children are central to the development of an ADHD-/ADD-child. These needs include a small class with specially trained teachers, assistance for the parents from specialists, and for others who interact with the child to be informed about ADHD/ADD. (Less)
