The treatment units, offering family treatment, were runned by the county counsil, Lund's municipality, private companies or a foundation. This case study was done on basis of principally system and communication theories. In what way the family got in contact with therapists, offering help and support, depended on who were running the therapist's work. Less than a third of all the employees were authorized psychotherapists by the state. In the choice of theories and methods the treatment units were eclectic. They used various of theories and methods, depending on the families' needs, like system and commuication theory, cognitive theory and psycho-analysis. The therapists emphasize clear and plain aims for the treatment. The treatment should be comprehensible, manageble and meaningful. The treatments consisted principally of conversations, social behaviour training and practical work. Key words: - Family therapy - System theory - Communication theory (Less)
