- Title: The managing of students' differences in music education - Music teachers’ stories of how they adapt the music-teaching to individuals. The curriculum of the Swedish school express that the education should be adapted to each individual’s own conditions and needs. As a music teacher, it is common to have large classes’ small areas to use and pupils with different conditions and needs. The aim of the paper is to study which tools music teachers use to meet pupils differences in the music teaching. The study elucidates how the interviewed view their own knowledge and where they think it developed. - Title: The managing of students' differences in music education - Music teachers’ stories of how they adapt the music-teaching to individuals. The curriculum of the Swedish school express that the education should be adapted to each individual’s own conditions and needs. As a music teacher, it is common to have large classes’ small areas to use and pupils with different conditions and needs. The aim of the paper is to study which tools music teachers use to meet pupils differences in the music teaching. The study elucidates how the interviewed view their own knowledge and where they think it developed. In the study the view of diversities, inclusion and meeting describes from of a historical point of view and right up til today. The result of the teachers’ stories points out several tools which constitute conditions to adapt the teaching to individual needs. The results show that good conditions are created by the way of working, contact with colleagues and conversation with students both at lessons and outside lessons. The result even points out that the relations between the time of the lesson, the number of students and the room has an effect to a certain extent. All of the interviewed agreed that their knowledge of how to adapt the teaching with regard to students' different conditions and needs had been improved in their profession.
Grundskolans läroplan ger utryck för att undervisningen ska anpassas till varje individs egna förutsättningar och behov. Som musiklärare är det vanligt att man har stora klasser, få utrymmen och elever med olika förutsättningar och behov. Syftet med denna studie är att studera vilka verktyg musiklärare använder för att bemöta elevers olikheter i musikundervisningen. Studien belyser även de intervjuades syn på den egna kunskapen och var den utvecklats. I studien beskrivs även synen på olikheter, inkludering och bemötande ur ett historiskt perspektiv och fram till idag. Resultaten av lärarnas berättelser visar på flera verktyg som utgör förutsättningar för att anpassa undervisningen för individuella behov. Resultaten visar att förutsättningar skapas genom arbetssättet, kontakt med kollegor, samtal med elever både under och utanför lektionstiden. Resultaten tyder på att förhållandet mellan lektionstid, klasstorlek och lokaler har viss inverkan. Alla intervjuade är överens om att de utvecklat sin kunskap om att anpassa undervisningen efter elevernas olika förutsättningar och behov i yrkeslivet. (Less)
