- This study examines if and how some of the concepts presented by Martin Buber in his works on philosophy of dialogue can be used to create a deeper understanding of some of the stories shared by four personal assistants regarding their experiences of interacting with others at work.
The study shows that the concepts of Martin Buber can be useful to provide a deeper understanding of some of the stories shared by the personal assistants in this thesis, although to a different extent. Some of his concepts connect to a situation of immediate presence and there are difficulties connected to the identification of those moments within the information provided by the four personal assistants on a second hand basis. Buber’s concept of Realfantasi seems to be easier to adopt on the material than the other concepts of Buber’s used in this study. The concept of Realfantasi could probably be related to a part of reality that seems not to be sufficiently covered by Swedish vocabulary. (Less)
