Abstract

This is a study about adults who have been raised in homes where one or both parents have been dependent on alcohol. The aim of this study is to investigate whether their childhood has been influenced by their parent’s alcohol dependence. I also wish to investigate the consequences of being brought up in a family with alcohol dependence. I am interested in their perspective on their family’s complex of problems. Six respondents have been interviewed, the objective being to capture their life story by trying to understand their childhood as well as their lives today. The result of my study shows that the respondents still carry experiences of having been raised in an environment with alcoholic dependency.
