- Abstract
- Problem: How can a medium-sized technical consultant company, which drastically
expands, both by number and geographically, maintain and improve the quality of the
product development process, continue to make better products and at the same time
live up to the regulatory demands of today? How can a consultant company work easier
and more effective using one mutual tool, despite diverse types of projects and varied
knowledge within the company?
Purpose: The purpose of this Master Thesis is to participate in the development and
implementation of a new project management tool which includes all the templates that
are necessary for the documentation of project work based on the product development
process.

Methodology: To collect our empirical material we have carried out qualitative
interviews and used quantitative surveys. Our theoretical data is mainly based on
academic literature, electronic documents and documents belonging to the company of
our case study.
Conclusions: We have developed a model that can be used in the development process,
despite which type of product or system that is produced. It is flexible and works towards well-defined project goals and contributes to quality in the result. (Less)
