Abstract
Problems: The department of development at SAB WABCO Nordic AB in Landskrona is planning to expand their laboratory with a new fatigue testing machine. Such a machine will simplify testing of mechanical complex and partly/fully assembled products during development.
Purpose: To produce a theoretical verified solution of a fatigue testing machine for SAB WABCO Nordic AB.

Problems: The department of development at SAB WABCO Nordic AB in Landskrona is planning to expand their laboratory with a new fatigue testing machine. Such a machine will simplify testing of mechanical complex and partly/fully assembled products during development.
Purpose: To produce a theoretical verified solution of a fatigue testing machine for SAB WABCO Nordic AB.
Method: From demands, requests and limitations produced by SAB WABCO Nordic AB in the technical specification and ideas developed during literature research and field studies the project group summarized five concepts. In a primary concept testing the concepts were evaluated by criteria set by the technical specification. Two of the concepts fulfilled all the criteria and were analysed in a secondary concept testing. This secondary concept testing focused on the brakes to investigate whether the testing concept is appropriate or not.
Conclusions: The results show that the implementation of forces is equal for the two last remaining concepts and the comparing state when the brakes are in use. Several carefully planned simplifications have been done in the analysis and therefore the conclusion should be regarded as a good hint. To verify the results SAB WABCO Nordic AB should perform more field studies to identify more eigenmodes and also to collect data to be able to carry out a transient analyse. (Less)
