To increase the ability to understand and explain why the interviewees smoke cannabis the existential psychology has been used when the result of the interviewees have been analysed. The interviewees have said that smoking cannabis helps them to be able to relax and to calm down. They have also told things that has shown why they have difficulties relaxing. The conclusion of this study is that cannabis can be used to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. These feelings can arise when the individual stands in front of a choice in life or when he has difficulties in finding purpose and meaning in life. Poor self-image is the result when the individual is repeatedly dissatisfied with his efforts and this causes negative feelings to emerge. The individual can choose to try to run from these negative feelings by smoking cannabis. (Less)
