Abstract
This study was carried out on 358 students in their first year of Swedish gymnasium education (upper secondary education). The purpose of the study was to examine adolescents' attitudes towards alcohol and to compare the findings to the adolescents' perception of their parents' attitudes and habits concerning alcohol consumption. The data used in the study were elicited using quantitative methods through a questionnaire survey. The data were analyzed using theories of attitude formation, observational learning and other theories stemming from scientific research. Results indicate that parents influence their children's alcohol habits and attitudes towards alcohol use. A majority of the adolescents in the study considered alcohol... (More)
