Title: Is the teaching method of Suzuki pedagogy the right modus operandi for all string teachers?
This survey aims to give an insight into Swedish Suzuki pedagogues and former Suzuki pupils’ way of thinking, their opinions of, and experiences concerning Suzuki pedagogues and the Suzuki pedagogy. Both Suzuki pedagogues and former Suzuki pupils have been interviewed for this survey. This has been done to highlight two sides of Suzuki education and possible differences. The informants are chosen by the criteria presented in this survey. Furthermore, this survey aims to give its informants the possibility of expressing, in their own words, their view on the scope of survey. This survey aims to give an insight into Swedish Suzuki pedagogues and former Suzuki pupils’ way of thinking, their opinions of, and experiences concerning Suzuki pedagogues and the Suzuki pedagogy. Denna studie syftar till att ge en inblick i svenska suzukipedagogers och tidigare suzukielevers betraktelser, åsikter och erfarenheter kring suzukipedagoger samt suzukipedagogiken. I studien har både suzukipedagoger och tidigare suzukielever intervjuats, för att därmed kunna belysa två sidor av suzukiundervisningen samt eventuella skillnader. Informanterna har valts utifrån kriterier, vilka det redogörs för i studien. Vidare har jag valt att arbeta utifrån ett kvalitativt
tillvägagångssätt för att ge informanterna möjlighet att, med egna ord, ge sin syn på det som studien undersöker. Studien ger inget definitivt svar på studiens forskningsfråga. Dock tyder informanternas svar på att suzukipedagogiken, i sig självt, inte utesluter någon lärartyp. (Less)
