Abstract
This study aimed to review the mental health of adolescents, their view on their own mental health and their view on the quality of the physical and mental healthcare provided by their school. The basis of this study was a survey of pupils (n = 65) in a high school in Helsingborg. The KASAM theory by Anton Antonvsky was used to analyze the survey answers. This analysis showed that the participating adolescent has a good mental health, and that they do not regularly utilize the healthcare provided by the school. There are several underlying reasons for why they do not utilize this service, e.g. a feeling of the office not being adequately staffed, that the staff do not genuinely care about them and that others that know them more closely... There are several underlying reasons for why they do not utilize this service, e.g. a feeling of the office not being adequately staffed, that the staff do not genuinely care about them and that others that know them more closely can provide better help. The result that the pupils have good mental health does not agree with findings from previous studies, possibly due to the low number of participants in this study. (Less)
