The purpose of this essay was to study the divided responsibility between the Migration office and the social workers when it comes to unsupervised refugee children. In this essay I study how the employees interpret how the responsibility is divided and how they look at their own work tasks. By using semi-structured interviews with people who work with refugee children coming to Sweden and modernised theory about street-level bureaucrats and a theory about interworking I seek to expose the challenges this division of responsibility create. I have, in this essay, concluded that it is difficult to work in an organisation where the division of responsibility is unclear. According to the professionals who were interviewed some matters remain unattended to since there is a lack of clarity in the instructions about who is in charge. (Less)
